Riccardo Banfi (Milan, b. 1986) is a photographer who lives and works in Milan. Riccardo completed his studies in 2012 with a degree in Progettazione e Produzione delle Arti Visive at the IUAV, Venice.
If club culture has been the subject and the filter through which Riccardo has focused his research, he has also developed a parallel photographic corpus in which different genres coexist. Interrogating the photographic medium as a tool of observation and documentation, he creates and develops new aesthetic content.
Riccardo’s work has been exhibited in European institutions and festivals including: Cneai, Paris; Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa, Venice; Agora, Berlin; International Festival of Short Films, Geneva; LOOP Video Art Festival, Barcelona; Artistic Foundry Battaglia, Milan. In 2012 he was artist in residence at Fondazione Bevilacqua la Masa, Venice, and in 2013 at Dena Foundation for Contemporary Art, Paris. In 2015 he participated in the Microclima Research Program in Guwahati, India, organised by Microclima, Venice.
